Program Updates
Hello SoCal Hoops Parents,
We have alot of exciting program updates. Please review the following program updates. Make sure to read ALL of the information below including the links to other important information. There is a mandatory link at the very bottom of this page.
Practice Schedule Starting Week of Sept. 5:
We understand that several players participate in other sports and it is not required to make every single practice. It is recommended that players attend at least one practice per week in order to see continued player development. If you need to miss a practice, please communicate with Coach Randy and let him know. We have set the practice schedule to optimize gym and player availability. We understand that several families have kids in different age groups and the schedule may be challenging. Older players are always welcome to attend any younger age group practice. Younger players may attend older age group practices only after approval from the coaching staff. It is strongly recommended that the player attend his specific practice day/time.
Wednesdays:
Thursdays:
Game and Tournament Schedule:
We are planning to play in games and tournaments at least 2 weekends out of the month and in some instances games may be almost every weekend. Depending on the overall development of each team, we may play in more or less games and tournaments. We will try to send out the game schedule at least by Wednesday night. We will try to identify major tournaments at least 4 weeks in advance. We may have multiple teams in each level to ensure we allocate the most minutes to all players and continue their development. For games, playing time is not guaranteed but the main objective is for player and team development. For tournaments, playing time is not guaranteed and our objective is to win the tournament.
GAMES:
Team Gear:
All players are required to purchase a uniform set (home/away) for $150. It may take up to 4 weeks for delivery for new orders. Players are also required to purchase a reversible practice jersey (order link will be shared shortly). We will soon open up the team store for additional team gear which includes but is not limited to hoodies, t-shirts, shooting shirts, bags, and hats. We want players, parents, friends, and family members to be proud of SoCal Hoops and show their spirit.
501c3 Non-Profit Donations:
As a registered 501c3 non-profit organization, SoCal Hoops Basketball Academy can accept donations from family and friends to support our program. The good news is that every donation is 100% tax deductible under the 501c3 tax code. Please refer to FEIN #46-4914047 for Tax Exempt Status when donating. As we start the new 2022-2023 season, we are looking for specific "TEAM SPONSORS" to purchase gear for entire the entire team. In the past, we had several families "SPONSOR" teams by providing customized shooting shirts, t-shirts, uniforms, bags, and caps. In one year, we had a family purchase shoes for the ENTIRE organization. We are forever grateful for all of our donations to SoCal Hoops. If you would like to donate to SoCal Hoops, please contact Coach Randy.
Team Communications:
If you haven't already done so, please text the word SOCAL to 213-513-5376 to be added to our text distribution list. You can also contact Coach Randy via email ([email protected]) or text (310-804-3279) at any time.
The Hidden GEM Sports Center:
We are making alot of progress in the build out of our new training facility in Simi Valley. We hope to have the center fully functional by the end of September and be able to support the 3-pillars of our program 1) skills development, 2) athletic performance, and 3) mental mindset We will plan for an official grand opening at that time. Check out www.HiddenGEMSportsCenter.com.
