SoCal Hoops Parents,
From the entire SoCal Hoops Basketball Academy coaching staff, we are excited and proud to begin the 2017/2018 AAU Basketball Season. As you may know, on Sept. 1, 2017 all teams move up to their next age level (i.e. 10U becomes 11U, 12U becomes 13U), with eligibility based on birthdays as of Sept. 1, 2018. Specifically, if your player turns 13 before Sept. 1, 2018 then he should be playing in the 13U division (as another example 8U – An athlete can be no older than 8 on August 31, 2018). There are also grade exceptions that allow a player to play in the appropriate grade level. All the rules are explained below.
We are forming new competitive teams and have a MANDATORY parents and players meeting this Sunday Oct. 1, 2017 12p.m.-1p.m. in the main gym at Porter Ranch Community School. We will be covering new organizational updates and resetting all parent/player expectations. Here is the agenda for Sunday:
Please plan to attend the meeting on Sunday. In addition, we ask that players do not dribble the balls in the hallways as another group is renting out the school and we must be very quiet when passing through the hallways (entering and exiting).
Again, we are excited about the new basketball season and have a lot of new plans to continue with our player and team development.
Thanks,
The SoCal Hoops Coaching Staff
